A key requirement of an unmanned aerial vehicular (UAV) network (UN) is maintaining and ensuring network coverage. Therefore, coverage of UAV Networks is analyzed in this paper, and relation between node density and total coverage of monitoring area is derived. Firstly, the coverage area of the node is estimated, the hexagon and positive edge are approximated. The monitoring area is meshed with hexagonal and regular-sided grids. Then, based on the penetration theory, the node density in a single grid with full coverage of the monitoring area is deduced. Finally, the importance of the work is deduced through experimental analysis. Experimental analysis shows that the derived node density in a single grid can be used as an effective parameter to estimate network coverage.
