Reason Analysis of Near Projectile of a Compound Extended Range Correction Projectile

Abstract

In this paper, the cause of the near bomb problem of a compound extended range correction projectile in low temperature test is investigated and analyzed. By means of theoretical analysis, test data comparison and simulation analysis, the problem is located in the nylon wind cap of the correction fuze. Because of its low temperature brittleness, the muzzle tears under centrifugal force, and the resistance increases, resulting in a near projectile. After optimizing and adjusting the structure of the air cap, the test results show that the product works normally, which indicates that the problem is located accurately and the measures are appropriate. The research results can be extended to the investigation of other near-range projectiles that meet the requirements of extended range projectiles.
