Image Matching Based on Salp Swarm Algorithm

Abstract

Traditional swarm intelligence optimization algorithms have the problems such as complex adjustment parameters and low matching precision in the image matching.A novel swarm intelligence optimization algorithm for image matching, Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA), is introduced to overcome the shortcomings of complex adjustment parameters and low matching precision. Firstly, the fundamental principle of SSA is analyzed. Then, the image matching is transformed into combinatorial optimization problem. Finally, the feature blocks of the image are extracted with HOG feature, the similarity degree of the feature blocks are calculated. Thus, the quickly and steadily global feature matching about target block image is achieved. Simulations show that SSA has high matching precision and matching efficiency. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is effective.
