On the afternoon of November 20th, the Second Meeting of the 7th Editorial Board and the First Session Meeting of the Youth Editorial Board of Journal of Projectiles, Rockets, Missiles and Guidance was successfully held in Nanning, Guangxi. 45 editorial board members and youth editorial board members from over 30 universities and research institutions gathered in the "green city" to jointly discuss the current innovative development path of the Journal and plan the future work blueprint. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Chief Editor Niu Zhiqi.
Niu Zhiqi, on behalf of Academician Zou Ruping, the chief editor of Journal of Projectiles, Rockets, Missiles and Guidance, extended a warm welcome to all the Editorial Board members and Youth Editorial Board members. He pointed out that as the backbone force for the development of the Journal, the Editorial Board members and Youth Editorial Board members play an irreplaceable role in enhancing the academic level, service capacity and influence of the Journal. He hoped that all the representatives would fully exchange ideas and offer suggestions during the Meeting, contribute to the development of the Journal and promote it to a higher quality level. At the same time, he stated that the Journal would closely accompany and serve the Editorial Board members and Youth Editorial Board members, providing them with a more solid development platform, richer academic resources and more authoritative expert resources to help them enhance their capabilities and achieve career growth.
Subsequently, Director of the Office Wang Zhiyi delivered a report on the Journal's work. From multiple aspects such as impact factor, thematic planning, and publicity and promotion, he comprehensively summarized the achievements and innovative measures of the Journal since the establishment of the 7th Session Editorial Board, and also pointed out the main problems and development directions faced in the high-quality development of the Journal. Professor CLIVE R WOODLEY from the UK, Professor Li Jun from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, and Zhao Changfang from Tsinghua University respectively made speeches as representatives.
During the discussion, various topics such as the development direction , the improvement of academic quality, the enhancement of industry influence, and the optimization of paper review of the Journal were discussed and debated. Many valuable suggestions were put forward for the future development of the Journal.
Finally, Deputy Chief Editor Niu Zhiqi expressed his sincere gratitude to the Editorial Board members and Youth Editorial Board members who participated in this Meeting. He emphasized that the improvement and every progress of the Journal could not have been achieved without the strong support of all the Editorial Board members and Youth Editorial Board members. He hoped that the Editorial Board members and Youth Editorial Board members would actively participate in the publication work of the Journal, fully utilize their own advantages, help the Journal plan hot topics, write and recommend high-quality papers, and strictly control the academic quality of the papers. At the same time, he sincerely expected to form a close cooperative relationship with the Editorial Board members and Youth Editorial Board members, and work together in the future to jointly develop the Journal into a distinctive and high-level journal.
This Meeting not only serves as a summary of the Journal's work, but also provides directions and ideas for the future development of the Journal. In the next step, the Editorial Department of Journal of Projectiles, Rockets, Missiles and Guidance will carefully summarize the opinions and suggestions from the Editorial Board members and Youth Editorial Board members, and apply them in the actual work of the Journal. By focusing on "expert-led publication", implementing "open publication", exploring "frequent author groups", optimizing and improving the review process, increasing platform construction and publicity efforts, etc., the Editorial Department will adopt multiple measures and carry out comprehensive reforms to continuously improve the quality of the Journal, better serve researchers in the field of ballistics, and strive to achieve leapfrog development.
