Mathematical Research of the Penetrators Damage Effectiveness on the Homogeneous Armor Plate

Abstract

In order to discuss feasibility of studying relationship among damage effect of armor-piercing body, target structural vulnerability and damage degree by mathematical methods, specific projectile and target system was taken as example, combined with mathematical definition of damage efficiency of armor-piercing body, structural vulnerability of target plate and damage degree, the three at different impact speed were calculated and numerically simulated. The results show there is function relationship among the three and can be studied using mathematical methods.
