Coupled Analysis of Electrothermic Action on Shaped Charge Jet in the Passive Electromagnetic Armor

To enhance protective effect of passive electromagnetic armor, the electrothermic action mechanism of the passive electromagnetic armor is researched. Coupled analysis model of electrothermic action on uniformly elongating shaped charge jet in the passive electromagnetic armor is established. By comparison of static simulation and testing, correctness and feasibility of the coupled analysis model is proved. The results show that, The liquefaction occurs in the middle of the jet whose velocity is about 5.8 km/s, well the gasification occurs in the jet tail whose velocity is less than 4.5 km/s. The analysis results indicate the significance of electrothermic action and the effect of temperature, which provides a research base for the optimization of passive electromagnetic armor.
