Numerical Simulation of the Influence of Configuration Parameter on the Forming of CEW Warhead

Abstract

In view of development of smart munitions and improvement of damage efficiency of warhead, numerical simulations by LS-DYNA were carried out to study the forming of CEW warhead and the influence of configuration parameter on it. The best befitting mounts of the liner around and the optimum matching relation of curvature radius and caliber of the liner were got. For CEW warhead of different mounts of little liner, the results indicate that when the number is 16, CEW warhead has greater energy utilization, bigger effective coverage area and density, and a better comprehensive operational effectiveness. The optimum matching relation of curvature radius and caliber of the liner around varies from 0.7 to 0.9. The optimum matching relation of curvature radius and caliber of the center liner varies from 0.85 to 0. 9.
