A Novel Multi-station Location Method Based on Error Calibration

Abstract

To solve high-precision synchronization problem in multi-station location, a new method which locates target based on error correction was proposed. The system consists of multiple ground stations with precisely known location. Every station receives the signal from target and computes its location according to time difference of arrival. The inaccurate coordinate information and measurement distance error will result in difference between computer coordinate and real coordinate, which can be used to amend the location of targets. The proposed method can track multiple targets simultaneously. The system operates with one clock source, which relieves the limitation that multiple stations should synchronize with high accuracy.
