Evaluation and Analysis of Air-to-air Missile's Safety and Service Life

In view of air-to-air missile life safety problems, service life evaluation methods used both at home and abroad were summarized. Taking AIM-120 missile as an example, assessment of its storage life and flight hours was described. Considering common life evaluation methods of solid rocket motor and life-extension method of the air-to-air missile motor at present, technical differences at home and abroad were compared. The results show that the SRM life evaluation method system should be improved, the mechanical properties of solid propellants under multiple loads should be further studied for structure integrity theory of grain, and service life surveillance program should be considered after delivery of solid rocket motors.
