Studies on Combinational Effect of Multi-ceramics

Abstract

To research the influence factors to ballistic performance of the target combined with multi-plates of ceramic, the targets impacted by armour-piercing bullets from 20mm to 80mm in sizes, are simulated by FE-SPH. The changes of the ceramic cone with the plate sizes and the influences of the broken panel on adjacent others are analyzed. The results show that the diameter of the ceramic cone increases with the size of the ceramic panel until some size reached. And the size of the ceramic plate affects the ballistic performance of the target.
