Study on the Effects of Oblique Jet of Engine on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of a Missile

Abstract

To solve the problem that the large jitter of the flight attitude of a missile diagonal-nozzle engine during ignition, the influence of oblique jet on aerodynamic characteristics was studied by CFD numerical simulation. The results showed that with the sharp increase of the total pressure of combustion chamber during engine ignition, the interaction between the jet and the external flow field led to the disturbing force and the disturbing torque. The nonlinear characteristics of the disturbance effect would lead to exception response of control system and large jitter of missile attitude. The calculation method and analysis conclusions provided in this paper could provide a theoretical basis for the overall optimization design of homogeneous missiles.
