Research on Antimissile Capability of Medium Caliber Pre-fragmented Projectile

To evaluate antimissile capability of medium caliber gun, a single layer arrangement of prefragments in compartment is put forward. The split distance and barrage shape characteristic parameter are got by analyzing spacial distribution of prefragments after separation of the shell. Firing efficiency model of medium caliber pre-fragmented projectile against ARM is set up. Antimissile kill probabilities are calculated by simulation method while antimissile fire errors and fuze actuation criterion are determined. Simulation results show that medium caliber gun possesses better antimissile capabilities in short range under certain warhead-fuze matching effectiveness. Besides, optimizing the split distance of fire control ballistic solution can improve the antimissile capability of medium caliber pre-fragmented projectile.
