The Influence of Optical Cabin Geometry on the Rotate Speed of A Projectile by Numerical Research

To predict the influence of optical cabin geometry on the rotate speed of a projectile, quasi-stable flow simulations were used in the paper. The results show that the geometry asymmetry at the end of windward optical cabin increases or decreases the rotate speed, and may even trigger reverse spin; when conducting the design of optical cabin geometry, the height of optical cabin boss should be decreased to prevent the increase of rotate speed. The conclusion in the paper indicates that the calculation data are in good agreement with the experimental data; the optical cabin geometry has great effect on the rotate speed and direction; the left boss of optical cabin can induce higher clockwise rotate speed; no boss of optical cabin can decrease the rotate speed; the wide boss of optical cabin can also produce lower rotate speed.
