A Highly Accurate 2-D Multi-beam Direction-finding Method

Abstract

A highly accurate multi-beam direction-finding algorithm was proposed based on curved surface fitting by making the best use of the feature of 2-D multi-beam output. This algorithm applied surface fitting to 2-D multi-beam direction-finding for the first time. The mathematical expression of this algorithm was deduced and three major factors of direction-finding influence were also summarized. At last, the influence of these three factors on direction-finding accuracy was analyzed by simulation experiments. The result of simulation experiment analysis shows that this method has higher steadiness and better direction-finding accuracy.
