The Velocity Measurement Technology of Explosively Formed Projectile Based on Multilayer Reflective Laser

Abstract

In view of the single structure of existing laser screen and sky-screen target, a new velocity measurement system based on multilayer reflective laser parallel light curtain was put forward. In order to measure fragmentation velocity in the powerful warhead explosion experiment, a non-contact explosively formed projectile (EFP) velocity test system was designed. The EFP forming process was simulated by using AUTODYN finite element analysis software. The time of EFP through the Light Curtain was recorded, and the time and velocity were displayed through the LCD screen after computing. At last, experimental data within the certain range circumstances was obtained. With Comparison with fan-shaped laser screen, the multilayer reflective laser parallel light curtain system has characteristics: uniform laser, easily extendible and cost saving. EFP velocity test function was optimized approvingly.
