Research on Backlash Nonlinearity in Propellant Mass Flow Control

The effect of backlash nonlinearity of gas control valve of flow-controllable solid rocket ramjet with electromotor on steady-state and dynamic performance of control system was analyzed in this paper. Several controllers were compared and PI controller with deadzone compensator was used. The digital and hardware-in-the-loop simulation tests show that backlash nonlinearity can result in oscillation and this control arithmetic is feasible.
