Polar Transfer Alignment Research Based on Inverse Coordinate System

A new transfer alignment algorithm was introduced for ship INS navigating in polar regions. Since rapid convergence of the Earth's meridians, the transfer alignment model and equations based on the traditional geographic coordinate system were no longer applicable. To solve the problem, an inverse coordinate system was employed in this paper. A "velocity and attitude" matching Kalman filter was designed to estimate the fixed misalignment angle between MINS and SINS. The simulation results show that the algorithm is effective.
