Dynamic Model of Unsymmetrical Trifilar Pendulum Under Small Angle

Abstract

Unsymmetrical trifilar pendulum is potentially valued in measuring the moment of inertia (MOI) of some oddly complex structures. By using Lagrang's equation with multipliers, the unsymmetrical trifilar pendulum under small angle condition was investigated and its dynamic model was derived as a composition of six ODEs and three algebraic equations. The model can lay a theoretical foundation for the engineering application of the unsymmetrical trifilar pendulum.
