Optimization of Nose Fuze Contour to Increase Firing Height of Artificial Hail-suppression and Rainfall Projectile

In order to increase the maximum firing height of a 37 mm caliber artificial hail-suppression and rainfall projectile, the other 4 kinds of contour optimization schemes were put forward on the basis of the contour of origin Liu-1 fuze, drag coefficients of projectiles equipped with these 5 schemes of fuze were simulated by using Flunet, and the data obtained would be fit to rational functions, then the centroid trajectory was calculated and the maximum firing height of each scheme was obtained.The fuze head contour has the best effect with the parabolic scheme in reducing drag and increasing height (increasing by about 4%).It increases the mass of projectile from the current 0.70 kg to 0.732 kg of the military standard projectile by the improved design of projectile and fuze, the maximum firing height will increase by about 3%.
