Research on Target Tracking by Velocity Constrained Particle Filtering

To improve the poor performance of the maneuvering target tracking. Particle filtering (PF) and velocity constrained particle filtering were introduced to tracking the maneuvering target. According to the prior information, outrange particles were discarded during prediction step, and the distribution and the weight of particles were adjusted. The performance were analyzed by comparison with the PF. Simulation results show that VCPF algorithm can reduce computation burden. Further more, the convergence rate and track accuracy of the algorithm can also be effectively improved.
